I sure am getting a late start to Mt Rushmore, starting June 24th. Why didn't I apply for sooner?? I am so looking forward to meeting people, taking pictures, finding the smile I used to wear. Feeling somewhat like "City Slicker". LOL

Whats up Jim. Yeah, I'm working for Xanterra and more then likely will become a "core employee" which allows me to bounce around to their different properties while maintaining full time status. I will however look into DNC now that you mention it...

Thank you! I will. I am a server this summer...not even telling anyone that I am a teacher. It is a teacherless summer, err, except for the blog with my students. I can't abandon them altogether...But to everyone else, I am just Julie. A freckled,...

I really admire you all and am intrigued. Doug- 32 isn't really that old, and I sort of feel like for you it will all fit into place. At least you are thinking about it all, and you know what really makes you happy. Everyone questions "things" abo...
It seems you are a real drifter, so why not find a company that hires seasonal workers but offers year round employment? This would give you some stability and allow you to have a home base and possibly climb a couple of steps up the corporate lad...

- Ill be swinging thru rushmore in the next week sometime on my way out west to tour the parks. How much time do you need to see that place? looking forward to seeing the badlands.

- Yup... I've worked about eight of them now. They are an awesome experience because the visitation in winter is about 3% of the summer numbers. We feel like we have the joint to ourselves!
That also means that there is very little work to be done and paychecks stink! But, it's a roof over the head, warm food in the tummy, free laundry and better wi-fi with fewer people on the system. Lots of snowy fun (if you wish it) and the people get closer, because there are so few employees and you're in the snowy mountains hanging out together!
