Ben! Jesse and I are planning a Mountain High Welcome back to work party. Well... I'm planning it and I told Jesse he had to come and I invited Kate too. You wanna come with?

Thank you! So, tell me about the products the gift shop sells! And you were the Supreme Grand Master of the Book Department? I love books, and look forward to reading as much as I can about Alaska. Good to know the gift shop carries them! What kind of books? Alaska history/flora/fauna/adventure etc? And how large is the gift shop? How many employees? Yep, lol, I've got lots of questions. :)

Hi! I applied for gift shop at MPL for 09 and was excited to see your photos! I'd love to hear more about your experiences there. And I am very glad you did take photos of people doing there jobs, I got a bit more of a feel for what it's like. Gorgeous mountain pics, too! You're very talented at photography :)

lol!
Is your girlfriend coming up with you this year? Jesse said she was really nice and I think I could use a few more chick friends this summer. How goes the nonseasonal world?

Hey kid!
I miss you!
You better come back this year or something terrible will befall you

I miss your smiling face Ben and your "Good Morning" even at 10:00 at night. I loved working with you. I miss everyone in the gift shop. It's a pity I can't be hired back there because of the circumstances. If I didn't let getting in a divorce and several friends dying (more now since then) affect my work than things would be differant. I've never been fired from a job before. Pity that people don't understand that everyone has a breaking point. Everything is well now. Tell me about you, before I keep babbling on.

Thanks, that does shed some light on things and really was helpful. We're so excited to be part of the gift shop crew. Rebecca and I have heard from more than one source that it's one of the best enviroments on the property. Thanks!

Scott & I are excited to be going on this adventure and working in the gift shop! What can you tell me about the experiance there? I looked at it virtually, it's a beautiful (and large) gift shop. Roughly, how many employees work in the shop?

My Story is that I'm crazy, what's yours?

There are two kind of people, those who come to Alaska and never come back, and those who come to Alaska and never go back.

I’ve always felt that Alaska is like a bar: everyone who comes here comes for a reason. I came to Alaska to get away from home, to be free of my parents and go to college in someplace new and different. But Alaska is never the end of the story; it is always the beginning and it teaches everyone a little bit about themselves. Some people discover a home they never kn… Continue

Cool Works 24/7-11

I really need to read the long version of an event’s description BEFORE the actual event. It would seem I completely misunderstood the objective of Cool Works 24/7-11, so all the pictures I took are of fellow employees doing their jobs, not of the two big things that really make MPL the amazing place it is.
The first, of course, is the scenery, because the Mount McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge (MPL) is just inside the absolutely amazing Denali State Park (not to be confused with its better-kn… Continue
