Hum, South Rim gets quite a bit of snow, ice & heavy winds, etc & very low temps in winter.
If you work for the south rim in winter, bring a heavy coat! But, why are we talking winter now? I'm all in for summer!!!

- Hi There,
My fascination with Elk began the summer after I graduated from high school way back in 1967. Me and a buddy went hiking in the Cascade mountains. One evening an Elk visited our camp around 1:00am while I was sleeping near our campfire. I awoke to see this magnificant animal standing near me in the fire light. I have had a "thing" about Elk ever since this experience, and take pictures of them whenever possible.
