Profile Information

Hometown:
Stillwater, MN
About Me:
Hi! My name is Heidi Rae. I absolutely love working with animals, especially horses. Animals hold a certain spot in my heart, but horses are my passion. At my previous job, we ran a horse rescue program and that really opened my eyes. I learned so much from working with those animals, and seeing their development was such a reward. It was incredibly challenging, but I wouldn't be the person I am today without that experience.

I have been a camp counselor at a ranch for 2 summers now. At my job I act as the wrangler, the counselor, the cook, and the housekeeping. Not to mention the entertainer, babysitter, and occasionally the referee. When you work at a girls camp it can get pretty crazy, but what is life with out a little crazy? Heheheh Oh did I tell you I LOVE to sing?? That is such a huge part of my life, right now I am in the MN Opera Giovani Choir and we are just starting rehearsal for our opera Iolanthe (Gilbert and Sullivan)! I'm very excited! I have also done some work with the Center for Irish Music in St. Paul.

I love to be in the woods, and if there are mountains around, that just makes everything better. I love the mountains. When I'm in the mountains, I feel completely safe. Which is weird because you are so isolated and if anything were to happen, help would be hours away. The woods and the mountains define me, there's not a day that goes by where I'm not wanting to be there.

Facts
~My laugh alone can make other people laugh, seriously. It makes me laugh just thinking about how funny my laugh is. LOL
~I can speak relatively good German.
~Cookies are never made right, unless they are all melty on the inside.
~Rhett Butler is and will always be the perfect man.
~I am pretty good at staying on a bucking horse. No joke.
~Every time i spell the word minute I spell it like minuet, like a musical minuet.
~ I am the FASTEST saddler you will ever meet. Period.
Where have you lived and worked?
I've only ever lived in MN, and my only job has been at Westwind Stables as one of three camp counselors and workers.
Dream Job:
Hmmm there are so many! Being a Bloodhound breeder, being a regular in the MN Opera Productions, being a tornado chaser, but my biggest dream job would have to be being a Wrangler who sleeps on the ground, and lives in the saddle.

Who da bomb???

Okay, so, my brain has been in full on teletuby mode since I got the Montana job. Here are some of my ideas for the children's program at Covered Wagon:

Most of these are subject to change depending on age, and other factors.

I was thinking about having each lil cowpoke (that's the name; Covered Wagon Cowpokes, I know, it's cheesy, but whatever, it's ADORABLE!! lol) make their own "customized" Covered Wagon bracelet! One of those twine bracelets that people make. I'll have them choose beads ba… Continue

I don't think I can even begin to describe the excitement!! I was trembling I was so excited (or maybe because it is a windchill of -35 here and I was wearing a t-shirt)!!!!!!!!!!! Whatever the reason, I am PUMPED!!!! This is going to be the best summer of my life, and I'm sure it will only get better!!!!! I… Continue
