First off, you'll want good shoes, its probably a half mile downhill walk to the lodge, you'll be standing all day and then have to walk back up to your room. The outdoor gear isn't really needed unless you feel like you'd like to do those things....

There is supposed to be a high concentration of bears in the areas around the property, so you probably will want to be sure to plan for that.
