Jim- It seems much harder to get a job in the Tetons. I am going to try at both Signal Lodge and GTLC. I assume that is due to the fact that both companies hire fewer people to begin with and have a lot of returning employees. Are there any other places in GTNP that I should apply besides those two? And, when should get my application in, December or January? I can work the whole season and I hear that is a positive for seasonal employers and I have lots of retail experience and good computer skills but I am willing to do almost any job. Terry

Most summers I've been emailing the owners back and forth every couple of weeks. But this summer I haven't talked to them since a couple of weeks after the season ended. (And Joe has my facebook and I think checks out my blog once in awhile here too) I know they had at least a couple of people they were talking to about the 2nd cook position, but I have no idea right now how those turned out.

I plan on emailing them next week about some things, and I will ask then. But in the meantime it wouldn't hurt if you emailed them about your interest, The website Just use the info@ email

That's a great gig to have. Keep ahead on your prep work if you can and the rest will follow. If I remember right, business picks up at the end of the month, then there's only two speeds, very busy and *#$& busy. Control your breathing, think of something funny, smile a lot. When the tickets roll, remember you only have to be faster than the servers...

I have a vacation in June and going to NH to visit family. Some I ain't seen in 5+ years. I'll spend the rest of the Summer at the South Rim to save $$$ to leave hopefully next year.

Signal Mountain! You are so lucky! You will have a great summer. DNC came back and offered me a Floor Supervisor position at their Yellowstone Adventures store, but it doesn't start until May 21. In the meantime, I am a Sales Associate/Relief EDR cook at the Yellowstone Adventures store. That's right, they are making me cook the food two days a week here.
