I'm all about adventure and remote living... I've lived in Death Valley, CA to Barrow, AK.. anything inbetween was great too.. Anything to give me a challenge, I'm always up for...I'm heading up to Cooper Landing to work at Gwin's Lodge on May 1st...
haha well life has changed a lot. I was suppossed to return to the south and go to LSU for grad school, but I stayed. I moved to Fairbanks and should be back down in the peninsula in the summer. I love living in Alaska, although my parents are having a hard time dealing with it. Hopefully you get to Denali before I move, because Fairbanks isn't far. I see McKinley every day I leave my house. Keep in touch.
Ok the summer is half over and how do you like your stay or job were you are? I haven't been very active at my cool works except for lately and that is because I am looking for a job for the winter... I really like Mt Mckinley lodge, that is were I am working.... I have been on serveral tours and one of them is flying around denali and landing on the Don sheldon glacier.... I have seen mooses and all most a bear on a atv ride....
well I would love to hear back!
Hey John-Just wanted to stop in and say hi! I've been talking to Brian and Nikki, who are/will be working with you, and haven't had the chance to formally say HI! I will be working at Summit Lake Lodge, which is about 20 miles from Gwin's, and when I get the first chance, I was going to come down to drop in and see how the season is going thus far....was originally going to drive, but the price of gas is OUTRAGEOUS, and a $225 plane ticket sounded mighty good! I will be meeting Nikki before all of you in Anchorage. I will be staying there for four days, then heading down to the lodge. I've been looking for a car to buy just to get me around while I'm there, so hopefully that'll work itself out too...anyhow, feel free to come on up to my lodge, it's nice knowing there's other civilization out there (since we're pretty much the only thing around!). Have a great season!!!
