Profile Information

Hometown:
in my motorhome, so I could be just about anywhere. Right now I am in Portland, Oregon
About Me:
I was a GTLC Employee and love Jackson's Hole. It a very special, if not, the most beautiful place in the world.
I am a 52 year old widdow. My family consists of 2 horses, 2 dogs and 3 cats. I love meeting new people and making friends.
I was a program director for an in-patient, intensive care, psychiatric program for a number of years before becoming a full time RVer. Now I have the luxury of being able to travel to wonderful places, such as Grand Teton National Park, which was my summer home in '07. Working there was sooo cool! I was a campground host at the Gros Ventre Campground. I am considering going back again this summer. I am also looking into other options.
I am an outdoorsy, earthy kind of person, who would rather be on horseback than in any mall anytime.
Last Seasonal Job:
Grand Teton Lodge Co., Moran, Wyoming
Favorite Seasonal Job:
Grand Teton National Park
Dream Job:
Getting paid to play in the outdoors.

Whew hew! I'm headed for The Fishing Bridge RV Campground in Yellowstone as a campground host this summer! This is going to be a wonderful opportunity to experience what others can only dream of. I do know I am soooo lucky! Looking forward to meeting those of you who will get to be there too! Kat

Hi there! Anybody have any ideas about what it is like to work at Yellowstone or Glacier? Would appreciate any info. I recently discovered that, although I was invited to return to Grand Teton Lodge Co. for this summer, I have been told otherwise. I guess because I do not engage in the politics in the workplace, it came up behind me and bit me in the butt. I was totally shocked to hear about this, especially since I received great feedback while there and was awarded all 3 special pins that employees are able to earn in one summer and was told that some people don't ever even get one. I hope that something really great must be about to happen elsewhere.
So, thus, I am soliciting ideas. Thanks for your time and thoughts. Take care all! Kat

Hi Kathy -

Got your email on your job search.

As I'm sure you know, Jackson Hole and the town of Jackson are expected to have a serious problem for the next decade with a worker shortage. I'd say you are in the driver's seat!

That being said, my side of the Tetons, Teton Valley, ID, is as good or better than the WY side for outdoor activity. Plus it is more affordable. Friends of mine just moved here with horses and they had no trouble finding a spot for them. The main employer on this side is Grand Targhee. Good resort, not without issues, but growing and paying well. Good group of people there.

Email me if you want more detail.

Hi
I also can't find your thread, I have a lot to learn I guess, I'm no help for a job, sorry, just want to offer my condolences, sorry to hear about the politics, I had hoped that I was leaving that when I started to work seasonally, darn it all and best wishes, sue
