Profile Information

Hometown:
Weston, OH
About Me:
I have come to the realization that the typical American dream of 2.5 kids a house with a white picket fence and the dog does not exist for me. Instead, I have accepted the fact that for the most part I am going to be alone and transient in this world. There is too much to see, too much to do and such little time on this Earth to possibly do it all. But, Hell there is no harm in trying is there! So, I am going to work my way around this world and enjoy my love of people, food, drink, writing and hope that I can find a niche that I can fit myself into and be happy.
Last Seasonal Job:
Coldfoot Camp, Coldfoot Alaska
Dream Job:
To own and run a back country lodge or ranch

your "about me" section - couldn't have said it any better myself.

Very nice... well...are you working through out the entire season there? I started out in 2002 in Flagg Ranch and had to get the heck out and ended in Coulter Bay for the rest of the season. Anyhow, i am so so looking forward to my time in the Tetons. I'm in texas right now visiting family and sweating non-stop. ttyl~

hey man, sorry it took so long to reply back. I was offered a position instead at Jenny Lake in the Tetons as a server so after a little research i accepted it. So are you in Yellowstone right now? I haven't looked into you profile yet but get back to me and ill talk with you then.

oh, no. no, nothing like that, not stranded in idaho working 9 to 5. not me.

...i'm stranded in IOWA.

it, uh, sounded like a good idea at the time? heh. it sounded... you know, normal. of course, now i realize how very foolish that was.

yay! i'm VP of something! seems like a questionable administrative choice to me, but you're stuck with me until my term is up.

my most memorable moose-counter started out "hey! moosebutt! eeeh... didn't expect that." it didn't end in a tent, which in some ways is fortunate and in other ways makes your story better. *grin* yours also wins the "photographic proof" category, of course.

these photos are great! you definitely have a good eye. (and good luck - any moose i ever got that close to was all, "no pictures, steenkin' paparazzi! i said no!" meese. go figure.)

"alone and transient" you say? we should start a club. *grin* there could be t-shirts and everything.

Hi Kevin, I manage at the McKinley Princess Lodge year round. However, we don't have winter jobs. The lodge is only open from May through September. We do have the Fairbanks Princess that is open year round and could be a possible winter job for you.

More awesomeness for us!

Although, you better not think you'll be alone traveling forever... you could always find yourself some vagabonds to join you. Seeing the world doesn't seem like too much when you're alone. : )
