I have since put in an application for Kalaloch Lodge, which is run by the same company and is on the coast a few miles up the road.

One girl on the board here had a terrible experience at Sol Duc, but that can happen anywhere. Each year is different. I didn't care for the housing they offer at Sol Duc, which is a little too communal for me: bunk beds stacked in a room, maybe 4 or 6 other people.

With your construction skills, you should apply to DNC in Yosemite. The housing is OK if you find a good roommate and the location is amazingly beautiful. Jim
