"I have not worked at Grant, but it is a great store; a lot of the staff return for more than one season. With an RV, you have control of your space during your after work time and you can opt to participate in the meal plan. I strongly…"
"Very good advice from someone who obviously has walked the walk! I am doing seasonal work in Yellowstone this summer for the first time. I'm a recently retired teacher and I have an interest in working in Alaska at some point if…"
"Mark, Sounds like you're searching every avenue. I don't know if the average person (retired school teachers included) can ever quit working in this economy. I'm retired from teaching but certainly not debt free after getting three…"
"The way I see it is you can probably find a job close to home making what you'll make doing seasonal work. The difference is that seasonal work has great locations if your a nature lover. Too many people it's worth the trade off. To others…"
"Excellent, I recently retired from school teaching and am gonna work in Yellowstone this summer with DNC. First seasonal job. I had a fifth wheel at the time I was hired and had an RV spot at Grant Village. As luck would have it a couple made…"
"Carol, I have a question. A friend of mine has applied in Yellowstone and they came back with a EDR offer (not what they applied for). As far as hours and stuff like that could you give me an idea what they should expect. My e-mail is…"
"Good idea on getting thru a little early. It's a ways out there. I think there will a lot of time in Yellowstone to see stuff. With the 2 day off schedule and then at least some evenings and some mornings (depending on what schedule we're…"
"Negative on the skiing. Been to Snowshoe for a GNCC (Grand Natl Cross Country) race in the summer. Nice place! You need to make sure it's cooled off before you go to Savannah. It can be humid down there but a neat place to visit. The…"
"I'm from near Athens, Ga. We ride our 4-wheelers alot of different places in Ga, NC, Tn, Eastern Kentucky and also WV. We went to the Hatfield-McCoys Trails about 2 years ago. All around its the best place we've ever ridden. The…"
"I sure you will survive. After all the job is a means to an end. I've never worked retail before so I'll be in the same boat as you. I get the impression that they hire people they feel will work and anyone that will work can do about any…"
"Keith, What type of RV did you find. You were looking a while back weren't you. Also have you given any thought to looking for campground host jobs outside the park? (Natl forest etc) To me they sound like they require less work hours and…"
"Thats great Janel. If you haven't been since you were young you really are in for a treat! That also gives me some hope for my son. Maybe he can still get on. They asked me about food service when I interviewed and I told them straight up that…"
"A big place and definitely a lot to learn. I imagine a person could spend a lot of time there and never cover it all. I'm working on getting in hiking shape. What was the longest hike ya'll did last year?"
I have not worked at Grant, but it is a great store; a lot of the staff return for more than one season. With an RV, you have control of your space during your after work time and you can opt to participate in the meal plan. I strongly suggest you do this; otherwise, you are going to be driving to Jackson or Cody for groceries. Grant is a fabulous location...you can't go wrong being there!
