Construction outside my window

Well folks - here is the view from my window on Friday, Feb 8. The city of KTN did a survey of the dock at the water front and found that

Wonderful Surpise

A little over a week ago, the residents of KTN were given a wonderful gift. It was a little past 5pm on Saturday night and my husband
& I were driving home from doing some shopping. As we came
around the corner my husband said "I just saw fireworks above Deer
Mountain!". Deer Mt is the beautiful peak that to

Winter social season

Well we have had a wonderful batch of weather the last week or so. We have had a mix of gorgeous sunny days with 25 – 30 degree weather then a day or
two of slushy snow. The photo shows you
a nice sunny morning. This was taken

New year - new blog

The view from my window - Ketchikan, Alaska today.
Ketchikan is a town whose number one industry is tourism. In the summer season (mid-April thru early October) the place is bustling with
locals and "summer folks" showing almost 900,000 visitors what the town
has to offer. They say that in Ketchikan 1 in 7 jobs is direct

I saw that you worked for Allen Marine last year. My wife and myself
will be working for them this summer 2009 as Tour Reps. How was it working for them? How did you go about getting an apartment in Juneau?

What ever info you can give me would be great.

You can email me at rvpaul@itilink.com

Thanks

Paul

Yeah I'm really looking forward to working there. Right now I'm trying to save up some money for the 4000 mile drive and for my first month's rent/living expenses. Do you know of anyone who's going to be needing a house mate in that area? As of right now my job has housing available, but I'm not really into sharing a room with someone I don't know, yet alone a 5 BR house with 10+ people.
Or is that typical of the living situation in Ketchikan?

I loved the fire works. Whats cool is I'm going to be working in Ketchikan this summer at the canopy tour guide place. I didn't know you lived there, but knowing that makes me feel all the better about blindly driving the near 4000 miles to get there. Just meeting someone else on Coolworks who lives/works in the same place that I'll be makes me feel...I don't know, safe I guess. I'd love to know more about Ketchikan if you get the chance. I like rock climbing and mountain biking. The fact that you ski in you back yard says loads about the place.

The nearest boxing gym is an hour away I might sign up for my days off, but I'll probably spend them falling down mountains once I start snowboarding or skiing. Have a good Thanksgiving.

Ketchikan is a great little town. I used to work for Princess Tours so I went up a few times for work and really enjoyed it. My highlight though was kayaking around Tatoosh Islands in May of this year. Loved it.
