Profile Information

Where have you lived and worked?
I returned to the Metro St. Louis area for four years. While their I built websites, served as Executive for Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County and worked for an Arizona nonprofit writing their business plan, web content and grants.

I lived in the Metro Phoenix area for thirty years. I was the Executive Director for Maricopa County legal association and foundation. I was the ED for statewide community-based nonprofit organizations and Development Director for Boyce Thompson Arboretum in Superior, Arizona.

I managed an Audit Research Department and Float Management for an Arizona bank holding company. Prior to my move to Arizona, I was the Assistant Auditor and Senior Manager for a St. Louis bank holding.
About Me:
I grew up in a family owned grocery store and starting greeting customers before I was two years old. The public has been a major part of my life. To keep my customer services skills in shape, I'm working retail while I finish a business plan, fundraising strategies, and website for an Arizona start-up non-profit.

Last year, I was a VIP at Grand Canyon and Petrified Forest National Parks from December through May. My responsibilities included formal and informal lectures on geology, the ancestral Puebloans, Native American tribes, park history, early settlers and architecture. I answered visitors questions at the Visitors Centers about the parks, Arizona, Tribal Nations and surrounding areas. At Petrified Forest, I also worked in the book store and taught one-day photography classes.

For the past 20 years, I have served in management positions for an association, foundation and statewide nonprofit organizations. My introduction to the non-profit world began with an Arizona statewide community-based environmental coordinating and educational organization.

Prior to joining the non-profit world, I managed a Bank Audit Research department. With a team of programmers and audit analysts, we developed an early warning system for senior management for a major Western bank holding company. This system has been enhanced over the years, but the basic concepts are still relevant. While in St. Louis, I worked for Mark Twain Bancshares as an auditor specializing in operational and financial audits.

An avid eco-tourist and outdoor photographer, I’ve hiked, rowed, kayaked, ballooned and trekked on horses and on foot through US national parks and wilderness area. The most demanding was a solo 500 mile hike in the province of Ontario, Canada.
A life-long learner, I welcome the opportunity to discover, learn and experience new places.
