Profile Information

Hometown:
Yorba Linda, CA
About Me:
I stumbled on the seasonal world on accident a few years ago while searching for a summer job in somewhere other than New York or California. I was going to grad school in Buffalo, at the time, grown up in the concrete confines of Orange County, California and was in search of a change of scenery for the summer. I found myself in Denali National Park, Alaska as part of the front desk. I've left Alaska on occassion to take jobs in Montana and elsewhere, but I always find myself drawn back to Denali. I call it home.
Last Seasonal Job:
Housekeeping Manager, Denali Bluffs Hotel
Favorite Seasonal Job:
Destination Services Coordinator, Big Mountain Resort; Front Office Manager, McKinley Chalet Resort
Dream Job:
Hotel operations positions that allows me to live and work in beautiful places!

i think it will be good location for me to be at because, like you said, you dont want it to be too laid back then your shift takes forever. im not worried about the clicks. im a friendly outgoing person and i tend to gravitate towards those people. i def try to stay far from the drama. that is everywhere though. you just got to stay away. i know i will find a lot of people to be friends with. i look forward to that!! that sucks they cut your working length. well that gives you a chance to find another cool job somewhere else. have fun this summer and im glad that you have shared so much with me. i appreciate it. kel

oh that is awesome. did it get pretty busy or was it mainly chill? i worked as a receptionist at a doctors office for 3 years so i can handle stressful office jobs but i was hoping this would be mostly laid back. im just looking at working up there like a paid vacation. it will be much fun!! well good luck to you in whatever you will be taking on in the future. maybe you will come back in a few years and we can work together. one question though. and you dont have to answer if you dont want to but why are you not coming back? does it have to do with the people you were working with? id just like a heads up if i need to watch my back against someone or something....

i will be working the front desk at the chalet. i look forward to meeting all the people, rowdy or not, that will be working there. its going to be such a great experience for us. i will be sure to stash snacks and drinks in our room. were thinking about sending our mini fridge up there to keep in our room. but thank you for your input. if you are working there this summer maybe i will see you around.

Hey Leo! I was wondering if you could tell me about your experience working at Mckinley Chalet Resort. I have never done a seasonal job before, but I got a job offer there as a hostess. I would love to work in Alaska because I hear it is amazing. But I would love to know how your experience was working at this particular place. Thanks! Kayla
