Hey everyone-I will be working at Signal Mountain Lodge this upcoming summer as a server, from May1st to October 17th! I am getting geared up for my trip but had a question for servers that have worked there in previous years. How much money did you find yourself saving over the course of a summer? My name is Lindsey Marr, and I am currently living in my hometown of Seattle, WA. I joined Coolworks after I had worked a season in Stehekin, WA, a very remote and small community located at the northern tip of Lake Chelan in eastern WA, where seemingly everyone had been connected to their jobs by Coolworks.com.
Working in Stehekin was an amazing journey of personal growth for me, and I joined Coolworks again this year because I was seeking another challenge to live and work in a remote place that is unobstructed by the modern day distractions of traffic jams, cell phones, and modern day barriers to forming the bone-fide relationships that formed the tribal way in which humans once lived. Lucky for me, I hit the jackpot and will be working this upcoming summer at a place called Coldfoot Camp, 260 miles North of Fairbanks which also happens to be north of the arctic circle! I can't wait for my summer amongst nature, open minded and exploratory people, and the midnight sun! - Wow! I had contemplated on heading to the "Gates of the Artic" and later on, decided against it. Coldfoot actually was on top of my list but obviously, it would take small steps before I could handle extreme conditions such as Coldfoot. That is why I am heading to Ketchikan, AK (most seasonal pros don't consider this area the "real" AK). This area is close to the southeastern tip and ways away from the extreme AK. It is a good start nonetheless. I will be driving a tour bus for ACT in Ketchikan this summer. Have a great season!
