Hey how's the road trip going? You posting pics of it somewhere?
Hey, I got the same thing. Any idea on what to expect once there? I'm pretty curious and excited! What you gonna do in your first few days there? Have you checked out any of the trails in the area around the employee housing-if there are any that is?
Hey Maddy,
When will you be at Mesa? I just got my ticket and should be there on april 20th. Did they send you a schedule or anything like that yet for when you actually start work?
Maddy ...be sure to bring hiking boots, a day pack (w/ water bladder - like a camelback), layered clothing (fleece works good for warmth). Trails inside the park are limited due to archaeological nature of the park but there are a few nice ones. More trails outside the park in the San Juan Mountains. Get ready to see some amazing Cliff Dwellings from 500-1300 A.D. Also a few critters like deer, bears, and mountain lions :-) .... definitely not in Washington anymore :-).
Hi Madalyn! Welcome to Coolworks! I'm really excited you picked Mesa Verde ... I think you're in for quite a summer :-) I am one of the Park Rangers there, so feel free to ask me any questions you might have. I'll be working the Far View Visitors Center and, on occasion, the entrance gate. I have hiked all of the trails in Mesa Verde so I can tell you about those....some are better than others. Be sure to sign up early for the special hikes to the Cliff Dwellings offered by the Mesa Verde Institute ... these fill up quickly and normally sell out completely. The Aramark housing is a bit crude, but if you can cope with that the rest will be great. See you there! Ranger Rich
