Xanterra has offered me a job in Security for them at Mt Rusemore. Because of the job I will have a private room whisch will work for me. If the job is anything like Paullete in Human Resources I will have a great summer. She was a lot of fun and very informational. Carol

The position Xanterra offered me has a private rooom & bath. Room was built for two;however I will have it alone due to the Security position they offered. I have raised my now 18yr old grandson and I am well aware of young adult lifestyle. Wish me luck. Carol

Carol - Being Smokey like me is pretty hard. They have hundreds of people apply for the same jobs and they give 5 or 10 pt. preference to veterans. Since Iraq it seems tougher. And its very stressful. There are actually some advantages to working for the park hotels or other commerical operations. Pros and cons for both.

Don't have the job in Maine yet, still waiting for the offering to come up. Do need to contact Yellowstone to see if the other job is still open to me. Can't seem to focus on anything these days, but I'm over menopause so that can't be it - oh yea - I'm in the next phase. Dementia....and sore everything. Just kidding. I'll give you my email - champ12127@aol.com. Tina

OK Margee - how about a photo? I'm not sure you agree but whole pages of people's not so pretty feet are hard to stomach. Every time I turn a page in this blog there's another one. I worked in Glacier 4 summers - and have a good friend in Missoula. Love your area; will go back again some summer, but looking for Maine this year; although I was (sorta) offered a different park service job in Yellowstone so if it comes through probably won't be able to turn it down. Was 2008 good at Lake McD? Will you go back? Worked at East two summers - love the park; the operation is another story but made some amazing friends.

Well just roll down the window and sing your way to Jellystone. Most likely everything is open in West and elsewhere. Don't look at the amount when you fill-up. Enjoy yourself, lady. margee

Hi Margee
Are you still around? I will be in Montana this week probably on Friday. Interested in meeting for coffee? I will be near Helena. Please let me know. Leslie

Hi Margee-Thanks for your comments and suggestions. Don't think that I can extract myself quickly enough right now to make opening day for any Summer job at the moment--earliest I could probably jump ship would be mid-Summer sometime. So, will keep moving forward here and keep an eye out for something that fits. I looked at GPI and it sounds great! It must be incredible country out there--how I envy you! Although I know I would miss the beach--I live right on it-- I'm ready for something different (and cooler!!). Please stay in touch and let me know how things go for you at Lake MacDonald. Hope you don't mind me picking your brain from time to time. Cindy
