one good thing over Glacier that North Rim has is you don't have to pay 100.00 to get your bonus. to me getting your 100.00 back at the end of the season is not a bonus. You shouldn't have to pay. They simply give you a 500.00 bonus at the end of ...

Oh I know what the difference is. I meant as far as the refund was concerned.

and u have better housing also your refund is just another way of saying an bonus

It usually means you are paid more, supervise people, and generally sleep in different quarters than non-management positions. Congrats!

My final paperwork, which I am filling out presently, says I will receive a refund of all room and board charges upon completion of my contract. I will be in a management position and I have no idea if that is different than another position.

Forget the North Rim. Come to Glacier.

I haven't worked at either place, but I have been to both areas, and in my humble opinion, I believe that Glacier National Park is a much more beautiful place to be. I've been plenty of national parks in the country and Glacier is by far my favori...

Don't quote me on getting the $11 a day back. I got phone calls in about 30 minutes from them I very well could have misunderstood.
March 13
Unless I misunderstood the $11 covers room, board and food. I also wasn't aware you got it back if you finish the season... I hope that is true though!! The $100 deposit is correct and you get that back at the end of the season as long as you don'...

Just said room and board. I figure meal plan but laundry wasn't mentioned. I'm not counting on it. When I find out more I'll post. I should know in the next few days.
March 13
What is included with that? Meal plan, laundry, etc.?
March 13
GNP is $11 a day room and board which you get back if you complete your contract. $100 deposit due when you get there. Thats what HR told me yesterday anyways.

If you come to the NR, check the Ride Board on Coolworks to see if anyone is driving and you want a ride. I am driving from St. Paul, MN but I have to be at the NR on May 1. You are welcome to ride with me if the dates fit. :-)

Marie-Princess was a good place to work. The scenery is spectacular. When you are ready be sure to apply to all the Princess Lodges in Alaska. The lodges at Copper River and Kenai are in beautiful environments. If you work at NR, I'll give you more info. You can view some pictures on Alaska on my Coolworks page.

Ooh, you're from Chicago! Me too! Haven't lived there in seven years though, but made it back to visit before this past Christmas. Drove from Atlanta, and managed to hit the ice storms. Ah, good times. Anyway, hope to see you at the North Rim!

Hello Marie-have you decided whether or not to go to the North Rim. I worked at the Denali princess Wilderness Lodge last summer. I'll be working at the NR this summer as the IT support. I made my decision to work at the NR because of the positive response I received from the folks doing the hiring and also because of the positive comments by others on Coolworks who have worked there. Hope we see you at the NR.

thanks, for the message. I wish I had my other pics up there but accidentally deleted those. To show you how small the place is there is a 1 person post office and they don't have po boxes. in the beginning of the season all mail for everyone is picked up from this locker place and just delivered to the edr. Once the season gets underway they send all the mail to the tiny post office and the person hands you your mail through a window. Actually the one pic I have posted of the blond lady leaning into the camera is the whole post office lol.
