Profile Information

Hometown:
Seattle
About Me:
I am me... I was born and raised in South Seattle in what is now known as the City of Sea-Tac located by the famous Sea-Tac international airport.

My first seasonal job was due to the fact my sister had gone for only one season before having the responsibilities of having a family of her own. She had kept trying to get me to go for a few years afterwards. Well the time was right and being tired of where I was working at the time... I applied and was hired. It was a big corner stone in my life.

I was embarking on a new journey, met some great people from abroad and an experience of a lifetime that only a few people get the chance to go through. It is not everyone who gets an opportunity to live and work in some remote part of the world that others can only dream about.

I started working in the Grand Tetons! I spent 10 summers in GTNP. I also spent some winter seasons in between in; Death Valley, CA., Salt Lake City, Ut., Couer D Aleane, ID. as well as returning a few winters back to Seattle.

In 1998 I went back to Seattle and remained there until 2010. Then in 2010, it was time for another change... after some thought I decided and moved/resided to Virginia Beach, VA. and the adventure continues....

I am exploring the East Coast and I am currently working for the well established and legendary "Lynnhaven Fish House" situated on the Lynnhaven Pier and over looking the Chesapeake Bay in the Virginia Beach area of VA.

Recently moved (October, 2012) up the Eastern Shore to a town called Berlin, MD. Nearby is Ocean City, MD.
Last Seasonal Job:
Grand Tetons, 10 summers at GTLC (CBV: summers of 1989-1997, JLL summer 1998)

Mark,

Thanks for the words of encouragement :)  I was born and raised here in Utah.  When my youngest child flew the coop last spring I decided it was about time for mom to do some of what I always wished I had.  Alaska was first on my list...check.  Africa is next.  I was a employment specialist/headhunter for several years.  So job search, and internet research is kinda my specialty.  I wanted to go to Africa...but yep expensive!  I was very lucky to find a very kind small organization who is more than willing to have help at no cost to me.  Other than airfare, which a wonderful friend covered, and I will cover my own small expenes.  A small price to pay for such an amazing opportunity.  I mainly will be orking with the children at the kinship.  I will have the chance to work at a farm on the weekends if I don't have something else going on that particular weekend.  I am so blessed to have this chance to do some amazing things at this stage of my life.  I know so many people who are just existing; I plan on living!  And seeing as much of the world as I can possibly see :)  If you want to see more about where I'm going they have a little website.  www.kininitiative.org    TTYL.....Lisa
