Well I was the Bar Manager there last year. They don't really have f&B people unless you are a manager or you straight work in the kitchen. The kitchen staff is going to be primarily new this season except for the two top chefs. Brian is a straigh...

Actually I am headed to Rio Blanco Ranch in CO this summer. I was at Coldfoot a few years back now. Brother I have that bar in tip top shape for I tell you what, the last few bar managers took no pride in that place so I had a lot of work to organize it. Hopefully everything is ready for you to begin. If you have any questions throughout the summer let me know I would be happy to help. You actually have a staff of around 75 during peak season, but at times it can seem small. As for tips, the ranch has a bit of a no tipping policy. You will get tips during the spring and fall but don't look to get to much during the summer. I maybe walked away with a grand over the course of May-Nov in cash. I will give Yancey credit in the fact that is one thing he would like to see changed. As for the Chef, you might have it easier with Brian being an older guy, he is probably less likely to mess with you.

I considered that as well did a summer in Skagway awhile back. Hey in addition to the salary did cash tips amount to much? Anyhow thanks again and really have a great summer

Well I was the Bar Manager there last year. They don't really have f&B people unless you are a manager or you straight work in the kitchen. The kitchen staff is going to be primarily new this season except for the two top chefs. Brian is a straight arrogant prick, good luck with him. Jeff the Sous Chef is a good guy you just have to get through his estranged sense of humor. Don't look for any good graces being a guy in the kitchen if you do not work in there because they could care less about you, but naturally the girls get away with murder. The best part of the job are honestly the guests there will be some amazing guests come through and some bad, but mostly they tip toward the good side. Steer clear from Yancey, he is extremely passive aggressive, he prefers to let everything go on it's merry way until you have just completely jacked your position in his eyes until he steps in. Hopefully my exit interview with him last year will have changed this behavior.

But the ranch itself is gorgeous, great food and accommodations!
