Fife Lake, MI
Where have you lived and worked?
I've lived in northern Michigan basically my entire life but I recently traveled to louisiana for a while and plan to head to Florida soon. I've always loved working in the food service industry. The people and fast paced atmosphere really hooked me. I can see myself being involved in that in some way probably the rest of my life.
About Me:
I've reached a point in my life where I'm just ready to see new places, meet new people, and just travel for awhile. I enjoy music, movies, food, people, ext ext. Lol!
Dream Job:
To work on a cruise ship or 5 star restaurant.

I worked for RCT back in 2002-2003 on the train... so I can give you some places close to the rail yard to look for an apartment ... but I agree with Garret... it's expensive to live in Alaska, and it takes some money to get up there and get settled.. and then you don't get paid for the first three weeks or so(including no tips until training is done and the season gets going)... so be prepared! You're gonna have to spend some money before you make any money, and even then, you have to be careful so that you actually come out ahead when it's all said and done. My advice is to try to find some roommates. Wait til you get there, and then find others that are also doing what you are doing, who all work different schedules, so that you don't notice that you have a few roommates. Trust me, if you work the train, you won't be at home much. With roommates, you'll save more money... leaving more to travel with after the season.
Anyway, lots to tell about Alaska. If you want to know more, contact me via, and we'll chat.
