Sounds like a good plan. Biology can be pretty intense at times, so be ready for long periods of hating life and wanting to change your major, but if you can make it through the first 2 or 3 years, then you will do well. By that time studying 20 hours for a midterm is like riding a bike!

So once you're in college are you going to major in biology/chemistry and apply for a dental school, or does UAA have a dental program so you can major in dentistry right from the start?

very true. I'm not terribly excited about the 6 hour drive either. I'll only be flown into Anchorage, so I have a long day of traveling to Denali come may 10th.
