Fairbanks Update

So I deleted my blog about Gwins with requests from those who manage this website. Trust me when I say I had NO IDEA that it would have become what it did. I still stand firm on my original intent on writing the post and am thankful for those here who supported my honesty. I never did see any of the "hurtful" posts and plead those who did leave nasty comments steer clear from my site.
On another note, I thought I would update my life in Alaska to create a happier vibe. I have been living in Fair… Continue

Departure

So this is my last evening in the lower 48. I have repacked three times, and last night I was finally able to fit everything I wanted into my two bags. I have a terrible habit of overpacking, and this time I truly attempted not to. It's just hard to decide what I need for four months, but overpacked or not, I got it all to fit. I leave at 7:00 AM tomorrow, with an 11 hour layover in Salt Lake City. What I am going to do for 11 hrs, I am still trying to figure out. I'm going to try and ask Delta… Continue

waiting

So I have been home for a week now and living under my parents roof. It's SO BORING and time seems to be going by much too slow. I leave on the 15th for Alaska and it feels like a lifetime away. I have no job and most of my friends work full time here, so I sit at home all day. I have to say I have watched more tv than I ever have. It's also hotter than hell in Orlando already, I went to the beach yestersday and it was well into the 90's. The tourists are starting to swarm towards the parks agai… Continue

Radical Changes

In just a few days, this Friday to be exact, I will graduate college! I am so relieved and excited to have graduated in four years, however it's bittersweet. I have made some great friends here at school and leaving them behind will be difficult. Although it's all very scary too because my life is about to make some drastic changes. I will be on my own for quite some time, something I am only half way used to. Most of my friends are gearing up for the real world. My room mate is moving to San Di… Continue

I'll be bartending at the Grande Denali this summer. I gotta be there by the 11th, but I'm thinking of leaving Anchorage a couple days earlier, then camping my way there :) When are you headed down?

Yeah. I was in Fairbanks for two days and nights on the 20th-22nd and then drove down to Denali where I'm working.. I started on the 23rd and have been working almost everyday since.. Its amazing, the park, the job, the people, and yes the money.... I'm a manager so I'm salary and I'm parkside which is actually in the park compared to the majority of summer workers are just outside the park... Where are you and what are you up to???
