Where have you lived and worked?
Seasonally, I have worked in Alaska and Montana.
About Me:
Several years ago, I left a job where I had been becoming more and more unhappy. I eventually found a new job but it was part time and across town. It was certainly better than no income, but I needed to find something better. One of my coworkers told me about her son who worked on a cruise ship in Hawaii. It sounded kind of fun so I got the information from her and went to apply after I got off work. Turns out I had just missed the hiring session, so I thought I would see what else was out there. CoolWorks came up on one of my searches. Next thing I knew, I had a job working as dishwasher on a train based out of Anchorage, Alaska. I made a lot of new friends that summer and fell in love with Alaska. The next four summers, I worked as a cook on the Seward based train.

This winter marked my third winter in Montana, another job I originally found through this site.

This summer, I will be working as a cook at a remote fish hatchery in Alaska. I'm looking forward to this new adventure.
Last Seasonal Job:
Cashier Supervisor at Big Sky Resort
Favorite Seasonal Job:
Cook on the Seward Based train in Alaska
Dream Job:
Anywhere in Alaska

Unexpected Paths.

If someone had told me just a few years ago that I would be working primarily seasonal jobs, I would have laughed in their faces.  After all, I had a full time year round job complete with benefits.  Why would I want to give that up?  Too bad I was miserable at said full time job.  Things came to a head when I quit my job.  I really don't recommend leaving a job without having something else lined up.  It took some time, but,  I eventually got hired at the local amusement park.
