Where have you lived and worked?
I was raised in So. Cal and raised my own kids there too. I left in 1996 after my kids were grown and moved to NC to try out something new. Not too long after my daughter and her children joined me. We relocated to TN 4 years ago to care for my aging mother. She passed away and I went back to work. I have worked in Sales, both retail and outside sales) for 40 years, even owned my own business for awhile.
About Me:
I'm a 63 yo single grandmother of 9 ranging in age from 3-18. I love to travel, camp out, most outdoor activies and meet new people. I would love to work in the tourism industry and found this by accident while I was looking at another site. Coincidentally, I have been trying to plan a trip to Alaska for several years. What a better way to see Alaska than to be working there, too!

Hi Shere,

I am 69 and worked last summer in Glacier Park, my return there after a hiatus of some years. I have also worked in Grand Teton and Yellowstone as well as many other resorts. I'll cut to the chase and tell you about several of my favorite jobs.

Number one of all the resort hospitality positions since 1985 is the Lodge at Vail. It is a middle-sized hotel owned and operated by Vail Resorts, the company that runs the ski mountain. You can apply for that and see the dozens and dozens of other jobs they have open at all times at or 866-681-5455. Next would be Glacier Park Inc., one of the two main concessionaires in and around Glacier National Park. They typically have dozens of jobs at this time of year and the chance to be around the Blackfeet Indians in such a beautiful setting is like the Fountain of Youth. You can find them on the internet but they're opening this week so hurry right along. Finally, I'd have to say the better employers in Telluride, perhaps the Madeline Hotel and the Fairmont, are two quality employers with numerous seasonal openings. You can find them also on the internet. Good hunting.
