About Me:
I'm 18 years old and a junior at Sterling College in Vermont. I love backpacking, hiking, camping, climibing and anything outdoors. I am an outdoor fanatic. I have worked with the SCA for three summers as well as Wilderness Director in Virginia. I love to travel and meet new people. I move around alot and don't like to stay in one place for too long, unless I really like it. I'm working toward my BA in Conservation Ecology and Outdoor Education & Leadership with a concentration in Wildlife Conservation. Thats one long word for me just saying, I want to be a park ranger with the National Park Service. I've got my Advaned Wilderness First Aid Certification and facilitate challenge courses in my spare time. I'm thinking about Search and Rescue for a career with the Park Service, but if not, Law Enforcement it is.

Tree Hugging Dirt Worshipper
Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them.
Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy.
Psalm 96:12

*i'm just a girl, trying to find a place in this world

*If you have a positive attitude and constantly strive to give your best effort, eventually you will overcome your immediate problems and find you are ready for greater challenges.

*It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.

*Life isn't a destination -- it's a journey. We all come upon unexpected curves and turning points, mountaintops and valleys. Everything that happens to us shapes who we are becoming. And in the adventure of each day, we discover the best in ourselves.

So, As I have been here already since June 5th, its gone just as soon as it arrived. I am heading home tomorrow back to South Carolina. This job has been amazing. Wilderness Director and Head Counselor at Highland Retreat. I don't know what else I can say except for i've seen and had the best times ever, and i've also had some stressful times in this summer. Either way, this has been amazing.

I've gotten so much experience and I got to lead Wilderness Camp. We hiked up 4 miles and

Hey, it has been a while since we messaged each other, what is on tap for you this summer? I am going back to Mt. Rushmore for my 3rd season, something about that place is amazing.

How was your summer? I just got done working at Mount Rushmore this week and I am now in Salt Lake City for the winter. Might get a job up at the ski resorts, not sure.

Hi Cashea.... "All who wander are not lost"...it is one of my favorite sayings :0). Being in one place too long can drive a person nuts. Since you really love nature and our Mother Earth, I hope you make it up here to Alaska one of these days. you would not regret it... A small town South of Anchorage called Girdwood is a place you would probably love. Fairbanks also.... You remind me much of my younger days in the Youth Conservation Corps. Keep up the adventure... it is most rewarding. I hope you enjoy your job and Sterling College when you go.... Cheers....

Hi Cashea, new friend! Sounds as if you will be having an exciting Summer. Will look forward to hearing how it all goes for you. My family is originally from East TN, so the Smokies are a very special place to me. Will be going back up next week for a few days. Enjoy your Summer!
