dorm living

I've been at the Grand Canyon for over 20 months now. For the first 20 months I lived at Brandt Hall. Brandt is a co-ed dorm with a really nice TV room (part of the TV room is in my photos). People seem to move in & out of Brandt quite often...the international students that work here have been known to call it "boring Brandt". Right next door to Brandt Hall is a dorm called Rouzer...."Rowdy Rouzer". Rouzer's TV room is alot smaller and always so dark. People that live in Rouzer will always come over to the TV room at Brandt to hog the TV, and try to empty out the candy machine because Rouzer doesn't have one. Best thing about being at Brandt is that the shuttle bus stops right outside the door & its only about a 5-10 minute walk to the general store.

The upstairs of Brandt is efficency apartments...usually for people working at human resources or general office or sales or some type of lead position. Of course their rent cost a bit more.

I just got into the Brown Building...over near Maswik cafeteria. Usually it takes a long time to get into this building.

The Balsams is a year around resort now but from the first week of April to Memorial Day and from Columbus Day to Christmas it is dead so I am not sure you would be able to work there unless you are a local. If you do work there during the busy season you should have a vehicle so you can get out once in a while. There are things to do there like hike and mountain biking but if you want to experience civilzation Berlin is about 45 minutes south.
