A big howdy back to you aggie71. This was taken after Thanksgiving dinner and we were just about to take off to our hunting stands. After this was taken, we decided I should have been in a rocking chair on top and then we would look somewhat like ...

Wow aggie71, that sounds devine!! I'll see what we can do. One of my daughters and I had planned to do the "Fly-out-fishing" excursion until I twisted my knee last week. Bummer!! So we are changing to another float plane excursion without too much walking.

Thanks for the reply Vicki...I have done an Alaska cruise and you are going to love it...the inside passage and glaciers are spectacular. When you cruise near the glaciers try arranging it where you and the girls are in one of the hot tubs (sipping some champagne perhaps!)...you will never forget it! Have a blast and let us know how it was when ya get back. Richard

Hey there Vicki .... a newbie just like me! I leave for Yellowstone in two days and am not exactly sure what I have gotten myself into. If you happen to be up this direction this summer give me a shout and we can chat or go fishin' together. I'll be at the Bridge Bay General Store until September 8. All the best (and Gig'Em)

Hi Vicki,
I see you haven't posted in awhile. Did you end up pursuing summer job options for this year? Looks like you're about to do your AK cruise. May is such a good month to do it - least amount of precip all year is in May. :) Have a fantastic time and we'd love you to post some pics!

Hey Christina - Thanks for your comments. I think my problem this year may be the start date. I have a cruise to Alaska with two of my daughters already planned and paid for. It is for the last week in May which as you know is general after the start date on most of the jobs I have looked at. Also, I have a miniture chihuahua and I see there are no pets allowed. I will have to make arrangements for a camper instead of the dorm. (And I sold my 5th wheel just a few months ago!!) Have a great summer.

Hi Vicki - I actually started in Glacier National park first, but applied for the concessions in 4 parks including Yellowstone. Got a call from each. You probably will too. I now work for the park service, which is harder to get into, so stick with Xanterra in Yellowstone. Just apply on this website, send a Resume with all your skills and pick 1-3 choices of jobs you'd like to do. You will probably hear back. They love older people because of the reliability. You do work a hard 40 hour week, but its worth it. If you decide on Yellowstone I'd recommend Lake because there is a somewhat decent "older" dorm there. Any other questions let me know. Good luck and have fun this summer. I may see you there.

If you click on the "My Page" section, you should be able to read the whole piece that was written by others. Unfortunately, I am also new to this website since I only joined yesterday. They should offer a tutorial.
