Hillary - been there two times - its not any more isolated than Yellowstone. I was offered a park service job there and plan to go possibly next year. In August it was very hot; in Sept. it was raining. The lodge is old but not unlike Old Faithful...

Hey Christina, Sounds like you have been at this for awhile. I am 59 and laid off from my project managment consulting job. I just heard from friends here in Ohio about this travel and work in seasonal jobs thing and I am reall excitied to get to it. However I am a planner and would like to know more about how you get the job and the place you want to do an go to and then how do you prepare leaving your home. Is there a place to get info or a book I can read about this?

Hi there Christina! Anxious to read your wrap up to your Maine,PEI,Nova Scotia adventure. Going up there is definitely on my to do list. Now that you know what you know, is there a specific location or resort(s) that you would recommend? Are there seasonal NPS jobs I ought to be looking for? Richard

Hi Christina, It's been a very long time ago that I was in NS and PEI. I was camping at the time, and I remember a camp ground right up the beach from the biggest beach in PEI. And the only place I remember very well in N.S. was a little town called spring hill. Wish I could be of more help. But, don't forget about the church suppers on Fri. nights on the island. Have fun....

I hope you are enjoying the Lobster in Maine. That's one of the reasons I applied to Acadia. I have been in Maine a few times and loved it. also went to PEI and Nova Scotia and spent a couple weeks. Let me just say, you will absolutly love it! Try the chruch suppers on a Friday night on PEI, they are deliciouse. have fun....

Hi Cristina,
I have been living in Sarasota, Fl. for two years now and am beginning to look into seasonal work. Maybe when you are here this winter we could get together and chat. Have a good summer.

Have a great summer and please do keep in touch. My email is suedancey@aol.com. I'm taking my very lousy computer with me and just hope I will be able to use it but there are community computers there anyway so will get back to you whenever possible.

hey, i hear you worked at Shenandoah for a short time, could you tell me what the dorms are like? And maybe your experiences, also what job did you have? Think this would be a good place for a first time 20 year old season worker?
