Branda, My wife and I have been accepted at Yellowstone doing Hospitality. As a houseperson did you feel a lot of pressure. How many rooms did you have to do a day. Would you do it again. What were your accomodations like.

I am 54 and heading to Yellowstone this summer for my first job. I am going to be in housekeeping at Old Faithful Snow Lodge from April 23 to Oct 22. I can't wait to get there. So maybe I will see you there. Gary

Housing is always an issue. Most places do offer couples housing. At Jackson Lake Lodge, Tetons, they have a dorm that's pretty much couples. Same at Canyon Lodge in Yellowstone, but just so you know there are over 500 employees at Canyon and most are young people. Short season too - end of May-mid September. Lake in Yellowstone has couples housing - limited though. You're best bet is to get an RV if you're so inclined. There is also a website, and paper magazine called workamper news that's more for RV'rs. Most jobs do want you there 40 hours, some more but not usually. Some of the RV jobs pay just enough to cover lot rent and maybe a little stipend. Hope that helps. Tina

I received an email that you had joined, and that you want to explore other opportunities. Not much call in the parks for pharmacists, but on the government websites you might find something. If you want a complete change of pace, and a low-paying adventure, this is the website. The adventure makes up for (mostly) the lack of financial gain. I've done this going on my 10th season, so any questions you have let me know. I've worked for the hotel concessions in the parks and for the National Park Service too. Enjoy!
