"they definitely have bears in glacier. As long as you have an enclosed car you are fine with leaving food in it. Do not leave cooler outside otherwise or you will be chatting with a ranger."

summer in stehekin

so far this summer has been good in stehekin. it is a very diverse crowd of employees this season and everyone is doing a awesome job. there is still a lot of snow in the hills so hiking is a bit sketchy, but with the hot weather lately it is melting fast. the river is running good and almost everyone has been on the rafting trip. last night the resort had a band play out on the deck and it was a huge success with just about every local and tourist attending. i would love to write more, but i… Continue

Can't carry as much stuff, but it will be cheaper (I hope). Nancy and I have been communicating as regularly as possible. Her responses are delayed, as expected. I found out tonight that orientation starts June 7th. I want to come out a few days early. Maybe the 4th or 5th. Gotta ship my guitar too. Bummer. Gonna be outrageous and risky.
