Hi Bob, yes housing can be an issue. Have you been hired? IF not, and you are considering the position, ask me anythinng you want. Most of the older drivers are based in East Glacier and live in their own RV's. Drivers based in Many Glacier are the most isolated due to the area. It is extrememly beautiful though! Drivers live in a dorm style 2-storied bldg. If you are based at Lake MacDonald on the west side of the park, you will likely live in the Jammer dorm, with other drivers..which was a good thing for us last year. We only dealt with each other and no other employees: this means we respect each other need to sleep! The dorm is barracks style and very small with community bathrooms. Again, not great, but living amongst other drivers made it all good.

Ask away my friend, I understand your position, I went through the same thing last year. Oh, by the way I am returning this season.

Hi! Patti Dog would have to get along with cats too :-) I'm finding that's the hardest part about getting all these cool jobs I see - I can't bring my critters, and I can't leave home without them. Have fun in Glacier!

nothingdoing...hello! Driving the red busses in Glacier is awesome. Here's the quick low-down...you will have to have a Montana CDL Class C w/ Passenger endorsement. Your current CDL may be transferrable if it's an interstate license. Glacier Park Inc, the company you would work for, handles your Montana CDL. They will arrange your study materials and testing once you are hired and arrive at Glacier. It's preferred if you have experience driving in the mountains. The Going to the Sun Road in Glacier can be a bit intimidating to drive, especially in a Red Bus. You will recieve driving training but if you are not comfortable driving on extremeley narrow an winding roads in an oversized vehicle, this job is not for you. If you are interested they are already looking for drivers for this coming season. Go to www.glacierparkinc.com or www.gpihr.com and fill out an application. There are lots of snow coach tours in Yellowstone....try www.yellowstonesnowcoaches.com for starters.....GOOD LUCK and let me know if you apply to Glacier.Delete Comment
