Snow, beautiful snow

You’ve all heard about how many words Eskimos have for snow. Being from the Oregon coast where it snows once every five years, this had little relevance to me.

So I decided to take a job in at 7,000 feet in Sequoia National Park. The beauty is I could walk to work so I wouldn’t have to drive in the snow. Seeing as how I have a convertible, that was a good thing. (But I do have snow tires, just in case.)

Wow there are millions of great places to work out there!

I cant decide which one I want. Please help me peoples:)
I need to find the most bad assed interesting place there iz.
I want to work for a couple months to a year.

biting the bullet

I called yellowstone yesterday for the dreaded post application follow-up!!!! I spoke with a very nice woman named Virginia, who informed me that she couldn't tell me anything because their computers had crashed! Bummer. BUT, she took my name and number with the promise that she'd call and let me know what was going on as soon as her computer was back up and running. Basin Harbor Club

So...I don't get online much down here in Arizona. A lot of my time off I go riding..and I need to go into town to actually get online. Next year, I'll start asking Michael to hook up the internet to the staff house. Yup, next year...I've already decided I'll be back here at the Kay El Bar.

I've also just accepted a position for this coming summer. I'll be cooking at the Basin Harbor Club on the shore of Lake Champlain outside of Vergennes, Vermont.

I'll have a couple of weeks…

New year - new blog

The view from my window - Ketchikan, Alaska today.

Ketchikan is a town whose number one industry is tourism. In the summer season (mid-April thru early October) the place is bustling with

WolfQuest - Be a Wolf in a Video Game

A video game called WolfQuest was funded by a National Science Foundation grant. The game is free for download at The game was released on December 20 and it was downloaded 13,500 times by the day after Christmas.

The Minnesota Zoo, the National Zoo, the Phoenix Zoo, Yellowstone and the International Wolf Center collaborated on the game.…
