Not the life I was meant for...
Hey everyone, it's been a while!
I knew a lot of you a couple of years ago. I worked at Flagg Ranch, in Wyoming with my boyfriend during the summer of 2009. I had to return to life afterwards, graduate college, and get a job in the major I chose; graphic design.

But something isn't right.
For starters, I'm making just enough to get by.…

The Casting of Nets
We cast our our nets via applications to a multitude of places. Sometimes even places that don't sound that appealing, just to get an offer, any offer!
Notebook in hand, we record the day, place, perks, location, any other notes that may help in making a decision or aiding the interview.
Then, all the employers cast a net: listing perks, offering enticements to get the best on board for the summer, the net stays out there long enough to fill the ranks, and then some.…

If you want to be a Wrangler on a guest ranch, you'll need to...
I recently returned from the Dude Ranch Association's annual convention at Tanque Verde Guest Ranch outside of Tucson. Going to association conventions is a great way for us to find out how CoolWorks is working for our employers. (And it's TONS of fun!) Guest ranches have used our site for years, (my first seasonal job was actually on a guest ranch) and we hope some of you have had great experiences working on guest ranches.
Many people who want to work on a guest ranch want to work…

Hi everyone. Princess is starting to roll with its 2011 hiring for seasonal Alaska jobs. It is always great to chat with folks on MyCoolworks about the upcoming summer and answer any questions people might have. If anyone is in that area and wants to swing by to chat or just say hi, please let me know. It is always good to meet the dedicated members of the…

back to seasonal??
decisions, decisions! I'm making excellant $$ where I'm at, but have been talking to a company about working for them, yep! it's seasonal. Driving a bus carrying peeps to the new river in W. Va. for their whitewater trips. I won't mention the company cause I didn't find them here on coolworks. It's the usual gig, housing (I have my motorhome so I'll be in it), not the best pay, but not the worst either. Lot's of new people! Lots of fun, doing one of my favorite things, (whitewater) in one of…

I say and visualize the word GROUP . My visual is of a gray buiding , gray sky , and everyone wears gray suits . A harsh sounding word , somewhat stiff , dare I say stuckup .
I say and visualize…
