Living & Working in Great Places
Thanks for being here! The six of us at CoolWorks welcome you and wish you success in finding your Jobs in Great Places®!
I've put in an application, took the typing test and passed, and gone through a phone interview after which I was hired.
I guess that was step one in a nutshell, lol. I shall be in the reservations office at Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park for the 2014 season.
Now starts step two. The packers are due here on Wednesday, the movers on Thursday. Putting everything except for a few little things into storage and hitting the road. My Jeep Wrangler, Honda Goldwing,…Continue
It is funny to think that for the past several years, I have heard the call of migration of seasonal work when I've been sitting at my desk watching the ducks and gees flying overhead. Now, I can join for the coming year and I find my heart is singing with excitement. Where to go? what to choose? should I go back into desk sitting, or drive a big old coach, or choose something different? I think I'm just happy to know that when people start heading out to the various places, I will be…Continue
Well I've been following my instincts by applying for job with the Federal Government again. I was once told that if you did not have a degree, the chances of being hired as a park ranger were almost nill. Today, I received my 10th referral for a position as a seasonal ranger and this time at Mesa Verde... now if they will only hurry up and hire me.... lol.
It is funny the things that first pop into your mind about leaving the comforts of home for a summer or winter season. I would say for most it is things like: "Will there be wi-fi in the employee house?" (got to Skype mom back at home), "What is cell phone coverage like in West Glacier?" (seriously call your mom, she misses you), but, I am sure that the top comforts most people don't think about (as silly as they sound): "Where is the nearest Costco?" You might laugh, but when I did a season…Continue
I am so excited to share that after a four year sabbatical from my seasonal life, I am back on the bandwagon! I have sent out applications to my favorite place to work (Glacier National Park), along with countless others, and with my fingers crossed I am hoping to be out there come May.

Whoa - guess that would eventually happen. Glacier National Park under Glacier Park Inc. was my first seasonal job and got me moving in all kinds of directions. Ten years later and I was looking to see what jobs were available for GPI, Inc. there were none listed and I couldn't figure out why and now I know. So, I applied for one of the Red Bus Driver jobs... cross my fingers and hope I get a call, like real soon!

I have been diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure; Angina; and my health isn't nothing to write home about! But I am a heart attack survivor. I would not wish this upon any one as it also has caused anziety; anger; depression and bouts of anger not being able to function like I used to. Oh; I also have COPD!
Have a safe and enjoyable work experience and I wish you all the best!
