Wow

So i'm sitting here this morning at my computer, drinking my cup of coffee, flipping through the channels to find something "decent" on tv on a saturday morning, trying to neglect the fact that today is Valentines Day and all the evil that comes along with it LOL.... and I had a "wow" moment.

I've spent the better part of the last 2-3 weeks chatting with many fellow coolworkers, in the MyCoolWorks chat room... we've been talking about where we are going to be working this summer, how… Continue

Employees Campgrounds

I plan on retiring in the next couple of years and want to work in the national parks. I was wondering what the employee campgrounds were like compared to the dorms? Since I have lived alone for so many years I don't know if I could handle the dorm rooms. What are they like.

Thanks
Carol

Ok, I Just Might Be

Some people call me OCD. I'm not THAT obsessive. Just because everyday I come home from my Real Job, put in an online application, cruise the CoolWorks help wanted now, chat with Seasonal Addicts Anonymous, nightly Mapquest to various National Parks, neglect my cucumber facials, or fail in 40 sit-ups, doesn't mean I am obsessive to the point of compulsive.

I mean, what if these guys won't hire me....maybe reach out some more?? Hey, I can apply til the cows come home.

And… Continue

The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly (Part 4)

I worked the Social Season at the Basin Harbor Club in Vermont in the summer of 2008. I was the Ranger Room Breakfast Buffet Chef de Partie. This review is of my experience there during that time period. If you haven't read my previous blog, Ketchup on Waffles, it kind of explains my personal views on reviews in general.

The Good: The Basin Harbor Club has been in operation for a long time, 2008 was their 122nd year. In… Continue

What I went through to start the seasonal world.....

I've been traveling for almost four years now and it seems that on every journey I take, I meet someone that's brand new to this type of life. I usually try to give that person as many tips as possible and try to make their first time an experience they won't forget. And every time I meet someone like this I think about my first time leaving home and why I really got into doing this.

As I've said before my family owned a campground when I was growing up so I was lucky enough to have… Continue

Deer Valley and why you need to avoid this place

Here are the top ten reasons to avoid going to work for Deer Valley Resort in Park City, UT

1. If your boss is named Carolyn your life will be hell.

2. They have just reduced the work force to 3 days per week.

3. If you haven't been here for 3 or more years you will be out of the click.

4. If you're in the click you can do nothing wrong.

5. If you're not an automated drone I would stay away

6. If you're looking to make money, try Alaska.

7. If you're an… Continue
