You Know When Something Just Feels Right

This blog is dedicated to all My Coolworker friends who have been following my trials and tribulations attempting to secure an Alaskan job offer for Summer 2011 ...  you know who you are :-)

At 61, male, not knockout handsome, overweight and apparently over educated ... I have found it difficult to obtain a job offer in Alaska this summer.  I have been at it since November 2010 (which is too early BTW), and have submitted a lot of employment applications.  Just no one has…

Soada Butte Lodge

I just saw a job posting for Soda Butte Lodge on help wanted now. DON'T DO IT! These people are misserable! I did a short stint there early last winter. Volunteering your time in the off Season

I have been on break this winter so to say.  I chose to travel this winter and do some volunteer work abroad in Mexico and Guatemala. I spent four months all together in both countries and had an amazing time.  I volunteered for an Animal Shelter in Mexico as well as a Wildlife Sanctuary in Guatemala.  I always try to be inventive when it comes to ideas to create more income when I travel.  Even though I am new to it still,…
