Well, it's come that time when I started to search for somewhere new to explore. Over the last two weeks, I have made five applications...all to places I have found on Coolworks.com. Each a little different...well two are pretty close...but different than areas I have previously found myself.
There is the possibility that I'll stay put, also. I'm not going to choose another ski resort, when I have the offer of the new restaurant at Mid-Mountain.
There's Chisos Mountain…

Well folks,
I have just started at the 49th hotel front desk that I can remember. Suffice it to say, Telluride CO is the premier resort in all my experience.
Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, the Keys, Stowe, Aspen, Vail, Jackson, Steamboat Springs, Copper Mountain, Keystone, Breckenridge, Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park, Grant Teton National Park, West Yellowstone, Big Sky - none compare. What is it?
What isn't it? The scenery rivals any anywhere -…

I was coaxed into blogging today by my good friend Kari, so here I go blogging. I work in the seasonal hospitality industry. The biggest challenge with my industry for me is working with seasonal staff. Like a bad box of chocolates, you never quite know what you are getting when your seasonal staff arrives. Sure they sounded great over the phone, but phones are dirty liars some times. Phones don't tell you that the person has 40 tattoos and 6 piercings and three noses and, well you get the…

I liked working at Pahaska Teepee Resort. Ditto Glacier Park Incorporated.
I have heard good scuttlebutt about Signal Mountain Lodge and Mammoth
Mountain. Anyone know differently?

First, I'd like to thank Bill for inviting me to CoolWorks. I'm very excited to be among people who apparently share many of my own interests. I hope to apply for a season-long position in one of the National Parks for the 2008 year and hope that many of you "seasoned" people will share your ups and downs with me regarding your employment histories. I'm trying to research as much as I can, but you guys have been on the front-lines and can offer a plethura of info that one just can't find at…

I thought for my first blog at MyCoolworks I would post a revision of my resume. I've removed most of the personal details here like contacts, phone numbers and salary information. Let me know what you think of it...

We have 2 dogs. Sula is a search dog. We were in West Yellowstone over the weekend for a weekend of testing for search dogs from 3 states. My job was to be a victim. I have experience. Sula passed her tracking test (4 hour track) and failed a cadaver search test. She's close. It takes a lot of work but she'll get there.
I broke free on Sunday to celebrate my birthday weekend with arun around the park with MY dog - the World's best friend, Jasper. I don't get into the park…

I just recently returned from Tucson. I went to visit friends and got a taste of what the area has to offer. Now I'm thinking of moving down there in September. Tucson equals a good job, good friends, and opportunity to hike and snowboard. The more I think about it, the more excited I get.
However, prior to the trip, I was contemplating Girdwood, AK. I have a strong pull to get to "the last frontier". The town of Girdwood sounds like a harmonious piece of heaven. I don't know…
