Luck is the Frosting On the Cake of Life

I believe in luck, but it ususally happens to those who already have a good thing going.

My life is like a cake I decided to bake. Lets see, we'll make it chocolate. Well, had that for awhile, Now I think I'll do carrot cake. I really like lemon, too,  maybe I'll do that later on.

Kinda trying different things out, and my luck has always been pretty fantastic. The icing on the cake I'm currently enjoying makes it so good.

If you aren't enjoying the cake you have, try a…

Ranger Rich Rants .... Volume 4

I been noticing lately just how many foriegn visitors make it a point to visit Mesa Verde!   It seems like 3/4 of the folks I speak with are from someplace else than America.   I am sorta relieved when someone walks up to me and can speak english fluently :-)   I hope this doesn't come across wrong .... I appreciate all these visitors from other lands, and I hope they have a great time at Mesa Verde.  It's just curious that more Americans haven't figured out what most Europeans and Asians seem… Continue

Gunflint Lodge On The Boundary Waters

Just saw this place on what's new. You DO NOT want to work there. Everything about it sucks! The most unprofessional establishment that I have ever worked for.

Alaska is great!

Well, you know the job can't be too bad if you forget it's your day off!  Yup, that's what I did.  But it's ok, cause now I'm being lazy.  Didn't get up til 7:30, then talked to my hubby for almost an hour.  Going to get some laundry done and clean the room.  Maybe jump a coach to Talkeetna and go have lunch and visit a museum.  Who knows what the day will bring.  I'm just going to let it happen.

Yesterday was a long one, but that comes with the territory.  And we had guys here…

Thought some of you adventurous women out there would like this blog post by Stephanie Yoder on the Hostelworld Travel Blog:

So you have this great trip planned out, to a place you've really been longing to see, but you can't seem to convince anyone to come with you. What's a girl to do? Wait? I don't believe in waiting around for other people to make your travel dreams come true. I've travelled solo through a slew of countries from China to Cambodia and Scotland to Slovenia and…

The inner Beach Bum awakens

So the past couple weeks I have finally been making it to the water here in Cape Cod Massachusetts. It is WONDERFUL. The ocean is still frigid on the atlantic side, but the bay and ponds are now getting warm and I swam for a full hour around a giant Pond today in Harwich.

I have also managed to see several of the landmark lighthouses here while speeding around on my motorcycle, the only thing that keeps me sane while sitting in the terrible traffic the cape has. Some of those…

Awesome day off!!

Monday the 27th of June was one of the most awesome days ever!  My roommate and I got to go fishing with one of the vendors.  At first it started out with Nick from Tundra Tours picked us up at 5 am and we headed out to Birch Creek in Talkeetna.  After a bug filled, muddy two mile hike through the woods we came to the creek.  There was one guy there fishing from a boat.  We cast in and just basically learned what we needed to do.  After a few minutes, Nick said that guy has the best spot and…
