I've been here over seven months now and am facing another fall/winter. Am wondering how I will do this time. When I arrived, it was 22 degrees below and I knew back home in Texas it was about 50 and sunshine. There is lots of sunshine, but the cold is killing me. LOL.. I guess I'm a whimp after all. I can go tent camping with a kayak, hunt my own fun, clean and cook it, but have problems with the cold. Guess I better stock up on som enew winter duds.. do you know if they make down…

We can watch the eclipse together!
As I stand in the -97 degrees with a wind chill of 8.8 I look to my right and see night's full moon and stars, I look to my left and see the weeks-away sunrise coming with a hint of orange, yellow, white, and baby blue blending into the night sky above. I look back to the right and see an aurora coming alive for one last presentation.

Well it was an exciting week. Once a month we have a fire drill and this month was our last drill. This was our “Big” Mass Casualties Incident drill (MCI) multiple victims. I am on Team #3 which
is the logistics support for the trauma and fire team. It was pretty
exciting dashing around on a snow mobile pulling victims behind us, carrying
them up the two flights…

I've made my decision. I'll be the Second Cook at the Kay El Bar Guest Ranch in Wickenburg, Arizona. The title sounds less impressive when you find out there are only two cooks.
I'll be there on the 23rd of September and the gig lasts through the first weekend of May.
My last day at Tamarack is the 12th, and I'll be moving out the next day. Before I head down to Arizona, I'll visit a few friends and family back in Wisconsin. I'm going to take the Empire Builder train from…

BBQ in the mechanic garage, having a BBQ indoor isn't the best idea even when the grill is hooked up to the venting system it doesn’t always work when you are continuously opening the lid… but a tournament of horseshoes distracted us from the smoke! May 25th.
