Where can I find an alternative energy community?

I'm looking for new friends. I am in the process of selling most of my stuff and renting my house out so I can work a seasonal travel job. I should be ready by the spring. Drop me a line if you want to talk about some ideas.

My ultimate goal is to find an alternative energy community. The northern hemosphere is heading for an ice age very soon and I want to be ready. If I do not find one to help prosper then I will start one myself.

Anybody have some…

Between jobs

I'm already to go. Mailed some items yesterday, carrying the rest with me. I dropped off an address to HR where the tax info can be mailed. I stopped by housing to let them know I'm out and gave them my keys...wow...I'm keyless again...after years of having to carry around a big ring...just feeling the freedom again...

Quick look---one night on the bus, two nights on the train, two nights in Oshkosh, two nights in Green Bay, two nights in Chicago, one night in Wickenburg.

I'm…

The Tamarack Resort near Donnelly, Idaho--Winter '06/'07; Summer '07

The Lodge at Osprey Meadows, one of the many places at the resort.

The Good: New resort, always increasing size, and interest. Year-round or seasonal options...year-round has excellent benefit package. Growing reputation, especially in the snowboarding and golfing worlds. Cross section of guests from ski and mountain bike bums to very high end-- Andre Agassi and…

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (Part 1)

Well maybe not exactly...but it's one of my favorite western titles...

Signal Mountain Lodge, Grand Teton NP---Summer '06

One of my first views from the employee dining room...looking at the marina office and the mountain range.

The Good: Other than the possible "uglies" below...just about everything. The employee dining was very good 90% of the time (there are times when personal preferences will get in the way, where the food…

The email I just received

To whomever sent me the following email:

"Thanks for joining My CoolWorks. Regarding your blog post, we wish you all the luck in the world in building your business but we work hard to build ours and our intent is not for it to serve as your billboard."

I was not trying to use your blog as "my billboard." Maybe I did not realize what your site was for, as I was just introducing myself. For future reference, before addressing me with a nasty email, watch the way you…

Gin!

Yesterday I volunteered at the North Seattle - Puget Sound Blood Center doing registration. It's a simple thing for me to do and it helps them out a lot. BTW, go donate blood if you live in the Seattle area or anywhere for that matter - they're short on O+ and many of the other blood types.

Part of the reason I like to do it is that it gets me out of the house and you never know who you might meet or who will make your day. Yesterday was…
