I reported back to Yellowstone on December 16th for the winter season. I'm sure many folks were just kidding me about the winters up here, but being from Houston, Texas, I'm sure they were just a little bit serious as well.
So, how am I faring in this winter wonderland? It is fantastic. It's cold, that's for sure, and there's lots of snow, but it is great. In Houston, we used to have at least 15 or 20 minutes of winter every year, so there's that. Driving out to Lamar Valley and…

Wow. Just wow. This season has flown by. I just noticed I did not post a single thing the entire time except the first piece where I told about my initial impressions. How did I not post anything?
I'll tell you how. I have been having the best time of my life, bar none. I absolutely love it up here and I do not want to leave. Of course, I have to, on October 1st, because my contract is up, but, I did get picked up for the winter season and I will be returning on December 16th till…

After a month in a cabin in Missouri, then a month and a half staying at my brothers place in Las Vegas, I have now made my way to Yellowstone National Park. The adventure started when I left Las Vegas the same day as the final confrontation between the Feds and the Rancher in Nevada. Of course, I was caught up in the traffic jam on U.S. 15 going north and we were stopped on the highway for about an hour before the State Police finally got the road at least partially unjammed. Later on they…

Here I am in Las Vegas! Actually, staying with my brother and sister-in-law in Henderson, Nevada, but close enough for me! Have had a great time since I arrived nearly a month ago, and have about 9 days left before I have to head north. I've been watching the weather up Yellowstone way and they've been getting a lot of snow still in the Mammoth area, so there's that to look forward to, lol. I'll be glad to get up there and unpack the motorcycle from the trailer and get it ready for riding…

Spending a little time in Eminence, Missouri. It is a small town in the Ozarks and it is a peaceful, sleepy little town that gets a lot of tourist traffic in the summer. Luckily for me, it is not summer, lol.
I got everything moved into storage, cleaned up my place to turn in the keys, loaded my trailer, and left the Houston area for a while. A long while, I hope. Went to Shreveport to see two of my kiddos and spend a couple of days there, then headed north to Missouri. Since I'm…

I've put in an application, took the typing test and passed, and gone through a phone interview after which I was hired.
I guess that was step one in a nutshell, lol. I shall be in the reservations office at Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park for the 2014 season.
Now starts step two. The packers are due here on Wednesday, the movers on Thursday. Putting everything except for a few little things into storage and hitting the road. My Jeep Wrangler, Honda Goldwing,…
