Christmas Crunch

Here it is, the third week in December at a ski resort. If you don't have your staff together and humming the same tune by this time, you are setting yourself up for a tough holiday high season. I thought I did until yesterday when one of my key cooks blew out his knee on the slope and I had a no-show on one of my PM dishwashers.

Back to Winter Camp

Carol and I returned to Camp Teton for the winter season the third week of October. Always good to return, but there is always alot of work. Trying to squeeze a summer's worth of yardwork in before the ground freezes is tough. The bitch is that we never really get to see the results. We leave just when the crocuses are blooming and the daffodils and tulips are in good foliage, but without flower. And when we get back, the leaves have just fallen or are about to be.
