I haven't been around these parts in quite a while - alas, I haven't been to any parks or "great places" this year as I had some health issues (nothing serious but had to have surgery.) Maybe next year!
I imagine some of you may already know about this but just in case I thought I'd post about something I got via e-mail today in care of the National Park's Foundation website. It seems Ken Burns, the guy who has created award winning documentaries about various topics in American History (probably best known for his Civil War documentary - he's also done documentaries on WW2, baseball, the history of jazz and a few other things) has a new one coming out in September on the history of the National Parks.
The trailer and some snippets (as well as some clips from a speech Burns made about the documentary) can be found
right here. (There's also a online chat with Burns
here if anyone is interested in that.)
I hope that link works! It looks like it's going to be quite interesting - was wondering if anyone knew anything about it?
Anyway, I just thought I'd share this information because I figured some folks here might be interested in catching it! Hope everyone's having a good summer!
