And that means only one thing....BASEBALL IS BACK!!! And here I sit scratching my head as to what happened tonight to my Beloved Cardinal's. Yesterday was opening day, We were up 5-1 in the third and then the rain that had been a threat came down in a rage and washed the game away. Tonight Yadi hit a single homer to put us in the lead in the fifth, but unfortunately then in the 7th he missed a throw my grandmother could have caught to give up a run. And it was downhill from there. Oh even though they lost, it was such a joy for the boy's of summer to be back on my radio (thats how a real fan does it) as i sit on the dock fishing for catfish, enjoying a nice glass of scotch. Here's to the return of MLB.

I hope you're down for catching some Kenai Peninsula Oilers games. That's the closest team to Cooper Landing in the Alaskan Summer League. I'm sure someone will have a car and also be a baseball fan...

Go Braves!

You might want to double check with the company. Maybe they launched some satellites or something in the past year, but in 2007 it was no go for the MLB Package on Satellite radio. It took me a while to wrap my head around the fact that we are too far north for a satellite, but if it worked I am sure Best Buy would have sold them. The phone number for the Anchorage Best Buy is (907) 344-4409, in case you want to call them and check for yourself.

WTF?...thanks for the heads up Rick. Guess I will be taking that back this weekend. That would have been a waste of 150 bucks. Once again this site has saved my A**.....Thanks again.

Hate to rain on your parade, but Satellite Radio doesn't work here in Alaska. At least that is what Best Buy told me last year. I had the same plan, and was going to buy it so I could listen to all Brewer games. When I went to the store I couldn't find them sold anywhere so I asked. They said they carried them for a month, and every single one got returned because they didn't get the signal. Apparently it has to do with our northern location. That was last summer, so things might have changed by now, but don't be surprised if you get nothing when you arrive.

Yeah they have a great team this year, something I cannot say with a bunch of confidence about my redbirds. Hopefully are pitching staff gets better mid-season when we get Carpenter and Mulder back. It was hard to not see Jimmy and Scott on the roster :( but like everything, change is inevitable. Do you get to listen or watch any games where you are? I bought a satellite radio to take with me so i can listen the games.

Sorry to hear about your Cardinals. Though as a Brewer fan myself, you should get used to hearing about Cardinal losses every time the Crew comes to town. This year the division is ours.
