Living & Working in Great Places

So this is my last evening in the lower 48. I have repacked three times, and last night I was finally able to fit everything I wanted into my two bags. I have a terrible habit of overpacking, and this time I truly attempted not to. It's just hard to decide what I need for four months, but overpacked or not, I got it all to fit. I leave at 7:00 AM tomorrow, with an 11 hour layover in Salt Lake City. What I am going to do for 11 hrs, I am still trying to figure out. I'm going to try and ask Delta to switch my flight to an earlier one, and if they arestubborn then I will give them a good cry, that usually seems to work. So I have a LONG day of travel ahead of me, only to get up early Friday morning and take the shuttle down to Gwin's. But I feel ready. It's been a lot of waiting and preperation, it's time to just get there.
I am so excited for the next four months in the Kenai Peninsula! I can't wait to meet all the people I have met through this website, all who have helped me towards this adventure. I know this is going to be a life changing experience. So see you all on Friday!

I'm HERE!!!! I feel for you...I've had enough of planes and airports for awhile myelf...hostel opens up here in a few minutes, and I will let you know where I'm at so we can meet up before you take the shuttle tomorrow...I repacked AT LEAST 3 times...and now my one suitcase, the wheels are just about to come off, and trying to lug 50lbs for any length of time is not my idea of the "Alaskan Adventure" if you know what I mean...going to spend the night repacking, how I had originally planned to pack, so that should make it a little easier. Debating if I should go buy another suitcase and be done with it, or since it'll be staying at the hostel and lodge, if I should only bother at the end of the summer...decisions decisions, but at all costs, I'M HERE, and although not disappointed in the least, it looks a little too much like my home sweet home Sierra Nevada Mountains!
