In honor of Coolworks 24/7 on July 11, I carefully documented everything I did (and anything unusual) on Wednesday, July 11 :-)  So for all you CW fans wondering what a Park Ranger does each day ..... here ya go!  First off I got outa bed and made coffee (of course!)...

Then it was time for breakfast.  I normally have the days schedule in front of me just so I can check where I'm suppose to be and when ,,,

While all this is going on the sun is coming up at Mesa Verde ....

After a delectable bowl of cereal (gag me) it's time to assemble my lunch for the day.  In this case a Healthy Choice frozen steamer, an apple, my "old man" pills, and diet green tea ... all in a recycled grocery bag ...

Now it's time to wash up ... mouthwash, brush teeth, shave, shower, deoderant, and finally cologne .... (not sure all this really helps) ...

OK....now it's time to get into the uniform ..... yippeeee! ....

Once dressed, I put on my Ranger Flat hat, add my sunglasses (to look cool) and then it's off to the Visitors center ..... about a 4 minute walk from my front door ....

Looks like it's going to be a real nice day at Mesa Verde ...

One of the unusual things that happened was a lady that insisted on showing me her Portuguese Chicken picture.  a) I never realized Portuguese had chickens and b) I had know idea how colorful they are .... learn something new everyday!

Wow.... we got an entire troop of Oregon Girl Scouts in the afternoon....where are the cookies girls?

At the end of work it looks like the thunderstorms are moving in ...

After a hard day at the office, time for left over pizza (oh boy) ...

So there it is folks .... a day in the life of Ranger Rich in all it's glory :-)   Perhaps not as glamorous as you imagined, but it is what it is.  I'm actually enjoying it .... and yes, the pizza tasted pretty darn good.   I hope your summer is shaping up good to ..... until next time.    Ranger Rich
