Thanks for being here! The six of us at CoolWorks welcome you and wish you success in finding your Jobs in Great Places®!

I'm not looking forward to the drive out west. Seems like driving back from Zion last year, visiting and helping with family emergencies, just sorta did me in.

Looking at flights from here to Jackson, it would cost about the same as driving. Plus, I would be there same day, just after lunch, instead of 2.5 days on the road.

But, still, having my own car is sweet. I can get by on few clothes, thats not an issue.

Advice needed!

Thanks Aggie, for the ideas. Yes, Terry is driving, but part of my deal is visiting family along the way, so that's something I must consider, and why I couldn't take another worker with me.

You're right, I'm very used to having my own car, and for 5 months depending on someone else would get old.

wondering how people who did it both ways, flew to a seasonal job, and then drove to a seasonal job, compared their experiences....like NEVER AGAIN would I be without a car....or, what a relief TO NOT worry about a car!

Hi Carol .... I would discuss it with Terry.   If she is driving then maybe you two could share a vehicle for the summer, and you could fly up there.  Just double check on insurance....you might need to be added to the auto policy.  If she is not driving, then I think you would miss not having a car. JLL isn't really within walking distance of anything ... you need transportation to go do stuff.   I know the cross-country drive isn't that much fun ... have you tried signing up a rider to keep company with and for safety reasons?  I found a couple to ride with me the year I drove to Yellowstone .... we had a reasonably good time talking, singing, and just acting crazy.

A social network for those who want to compare and share their work and life experiences in great places.
