Living & Working in Great Places

Cool Works ® Meet Up Wrap Up - 2009 - Part II

Wednesday, June 24

We left for a mini-Teton shakeout in the Van of Dreams aka VOD and made our way past Jenny Lake Lodge and over to Dornan's.

Driving toward the Tetons

I got a nice cup of joe with a view. The tetons are amazing!

We even ran into a few of the employees from Signal Mountain Lodge at Moosely Seconds, a hiking and outdoorsy supply store located in the Dornan's complex. I love seeing employees take advantage of where they are because really that the best part of taking these jobs in great places!

We then hit the road and passed by where Lost Creek Ranch and Spa and Triangle X Ranch are located. We even saw a bison jump over a fench (fence - that was my quick texting misspelling on twitter ; 0 ). Of course, Eric had to ask "Why did the buffalo jump over the fence?" Buh-dum-dum-ching.

The view from Oxbow Bend was spectacular and we all twitpic'd and tweeted there to our hearts' content due to the cell coverage.

I also had to catch the reflection of the amazing Tetons in the VOD's window.

You have to love the sun!

We then arrived back at Signal Mountain Lodge to connect with E and family and then paid another visit to Kelcy the super-duper HR manager and she gave us a tour of their EDR and main office. I think I'll be writing a separate post about Kelcy on our HR blog. She is doing it right!

Some photos from their EDR. Don't you want to work here?

Oh yeah. Bill wants to work here in 2020 and has already called the job he wants. Love it.

And then, we were off to Yellowstone National Park again. Boy, oh boy, do I want to return to the Tetons. : ) I'll write more about our last day in Yellowstone in my next post. :)

Hey Keith,

Signal was a favorite of mine back in the 70's when we'd hurry off of our climbs to get there to grab a Mountain Man burger on our way back to Yellowstone. Then a good friend of mine managed Signal for quite a few years after he left Yellowstone and it felt like a great place. In recent years I still feel that vibe when I visit. So there's a part of me that regrets not having worked there which got me to joking with Kelcy about whether it was too early to apply for a 2020 summer job as a boat docker.

Check in with me in 2020 and see if I can make it happen.

Thanks for the updates from Sheep Mountain. Give my best to Anjanette and Zack.

First, I'm glad you found out why many of us that have passed through Signal Mountain have found it special even if we move on to other places. Second, So which job does Bill want?
