This has been a rather strange Summer for me. I got to experience AK up-close & personal, which is always better then doing it from TV or magazines. I sorta had 2 part-time jobs while I was there. First I worked at Wendy's, which was within walking distance from the hostel I was staying in. I quit that job when the Winter community ended at the hostel and everyone had to move out..to make room for the Summer visitors, that only stay a few days at a time.

I went to Cooper Landing for the 2nd job. Started off camping in a tent...which was an adventure all by itself:) To bad the job, was not all it promised to be. I was the 5th person to leave early from that location. Cooper Landing is on the  Kenai Peninsula, and unfortuneately I didn't get to explore enough of the peninsula (this time).

Now I am back in AZ, waiting for my check-in date back up at GCSR (Grand Canyon South Rim), and I already miss the Alaskan weather. I also miss the Harlequin ducks, fresh salmon for dinner, and the snow-covered mountains. Yup, there was still snow on some mountains the day I left. This week, I am sitting in Prescott,AZ; where it was 97 degrees out yesterday.

I will return to GCSR, next week for the job of "Cafeteria Worker", same job I had before. It will be nice to get back into a daily routine/schedule again. My schedule might of seemed weird to some people but it worked for me. That was just another added bonus that came with my job at GCSR. You see, I really don't function very good for very long without a set routine.

Anyways, now that I will be back in AZ, for awhile I can plan on crossing a few more items off my old bucket-list (its in a blog here from Feb. 2011). Plus I also want to do another smooth-river raft trip; just because it was a pretty cool way to spend a day :) and seeing as those trips usually go until mid-October, I plan on doing it this year.
